Low-income and disabled individuals who need financial support for their medical conditions may qualify for Medicaid or California Medi-Cal. It is not the same as Medicare for retirees and beneficiaries. If you qualify for Medicaid or Medi-Cal, you may be eligible for a dual Medicare and Medicaid plan. Those plans are also called Dual Special Needs Plans or D-SNP for short. Click here for more information about the qualification of Medicaid.

Your agent is certified and can offer D-SNP plans for those who need them.

In addition, to Medicaid, there is also assistance for medication and premium insurance for those that do not qualify but are low income.

If you need assistance or would like to know if you are qualified for Medicaid/Medi-Cal or any low-income options, please reach out, and we are happy to be of assistance.

What is a D-SNP plan, and what does it include?

With some D-SNP plans, insurance carriers roll your Medicare and Medicaid benefits into one simple health plan. So you’ll still have all of the coverage provided by both Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, you may receive extra features and benefits at no extra cost, including:

  • Dental, vision, and hearing coverage

  • additional per quarter monetary allowance for over-the-counter drugs and health products

  • Care management

  • Assistance with transportation, house chores, technology lessons, grocery delivery, companionship, and other senior services

  • Online software provides a personal gym for the brain with exercises that improve memory, attention, brain speed, and more.

  • Acupuncture

  • Chiropractic care

  • Plus extras like a fitness benefit and more
